What is Mevorab-DSR?
Mevorab-DSR is a combination medicine used to treat acidity, acid reflux, nausea, and digestion-related discomfort.
Rabeprazole (EC) – A Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that reduces excess stomach acid production
Domperidone (SR) – A sustained-release medicine that improves stomach movement and helps reduce nausea, vomiting, and bloating
Uses of Mevorab-DSR
Doctors commonly prescribe Mevorab-DSR for:
GERD with nausea, bloating, or heaviness
Gastritis and acidity with vomiting sensation
Functional dyspepsia and indigestion
Acid reflux associated with delayed gastric emptying
Stomach discomfort caused by excess acid production
How It Works
Rabeprazole helps control acid secretion in the stomach, while Domperidone improves digestion and supports faster stomach emptying. Together, they provide relief from acidity, reflux, nausea, and bloating.
Important Information
Prescription (Rx) medicine — use only under medical supervision
Take 30 minutes before meals, preferably before breakfast
Swallow the capsule whole — do not crush, chew, or open the SR capsule
Common side effects may include dry mouth, headache, dizziness, stomach pain, or loose stools
Use with caution in patients with heart rhythm disorders, liver disease, or elderly patients above 60 years
Long-term use should only be under a doctor’s supervision
Dosage
Usually prescribed as 1 capsule once daily before breakfast, or as directed by the physician.
Note: Domperidone carries cardiac safety warnings and should only be used under proper medical supervision.
